Charlotte & Harry: Leicestershire marquee wedding

I was so excited for this wedding, as I am for every one really, but especially because in this instance I knew I was working with some immense suppliers and it was set to be an incredible day… I was not wrong!!

Déjà vu? You may have spotted this wedding in Save The Date’s online blog!

The Morning

Charlottes morning prep took place in the home she shares with family, watching the set up of her wedding going on in the back garden (read: field). Harry, his son and groomsmen prepped in a quaint cottage a stones throw away before making their way to the family farm to greet guests. Shout out to my fabulous second shooter, Eleanor Bryant, who captured the boys on the morning of to make sure we didn’t miss a moment.

The Ceremony

Held in the field they look over daily, and after many months of watering the grass and growing wildflowers, Harry & Charlotte married, literally surrounded, by their family and friends. Jo, from My Perfect Ceremony conducted, with an epic reading from Harry’s aunt, Heidi, a writer by trade… if anyone was fit for the job, it was her!!

A stunning floral arch by the Paisley Flower Company framed our couple perfectly, and proved a perfect backdrop for their later family portraits!

Guests scattered dried petal confetti as they walked back down the aisle. As I’ve always said, less is never more when it comes to this part of the day!

The Reception: Boutique Marquee Company

Having a fantastic styling team involved in a wedding is always exciting, it really makes the day so easy to capture when it looks incredible and we have the gift of great lighting on our hands!! The Rustic Wedding Company did the best job decorating the marquee with wild flowers, greenery, tall candles and pink/purple accents.

Festoon lights lit up the marquee later that evening.

The Couple Photos

We took a wander down to the other side of the field to hidden spots full of greenery. Under the veil shots are always a winner for me! And if you’re having a first dance, a little practice always makes for some great shots without feeling too wooden.

Charlotte nipped back to chance into her second outfit of the day, and walking back into the party, Mother Nature brought the most beautiful golden hour just dipping down behind the trees. You best believe Lou, Ellie and I ran over to grab a few shots before we lost the light forever. Sorry for the ambush you guys, I hope you think it was worth it, cos I do!!

The Dancing

The sun dipped down, cocktails came out and dancing commenced. I always find it worthwhile staying past 10pm, you never know what might happen!! Some great dance offs, goodbye hugs and I always love to capture the couple at the very end dancing away at their wedding.
