My approach…

In my experience, forcing ‘moments’ is the worst thing you can do. Your happiest moments are not staged.

So, whether we’re at your house, or out and about, I’m pretty much there to tag along on your day to capture your life as a family. I love to shoot documentary style for the majority of the session after a handful of formal portraits at the beginning. The rest is capturing moments of you and your family simply being together, so that your gallery is full of real connection.

If we’re at home, an activity of some sort is a great idea, be it baking, a board game or decorating the Christmas tree! Out and about, we can invoke a bit of imagination, or failing that, the swings never fails to induce joy!

I am more than happy to do a couple of more formal family portraits, but I always get these done first. After around 45 minutes to an hour, I get marching orders from toddlers to teenagers. You and I both know that there’s no way we’re getting a smile out of a grumpy threenager.
