Meg & Jacks Autumnal Wedding at Grangefields, Derbyshire
A turn in the weather and a recent visit to Grangefields has got me reminiscing about this beautiful autumn wedding that I never brought to the blog!
There’s just something about autumn weddings, isn’t there? Big shock, coming from me! Meg & Jack got married at Grangefields in Derbyshire, and honestly, it was the dreamiest kind of day. A bit chilly, a bit golden, a lot of love.
Grangefields is one of those places that feels fancy without being too polished, and it’s surrounded by proper countryside. Think rolling fields, crunchy leaves underfoot, and that golden autumn light photographers bang on about (guilty 🙋♀️).
The whole day was relaxed and joyful. They wandered through the fields for a stroll and a breather while we grabbed some relaxed portraits. No stiff posing – just them, laughing and soaking it all in. The autumn colours were showing off, and the whole thing had such a calm, romantic vibe. My favourite part - we wandered back through the ceremony room at the end of their portrait session as Meg’s shoes were hurting and I noticed a golden bit of light on the brick wall. I told them to stand in the middle of the aisle while I adjusted my position and captured the first image you see in this blog - one of my favourites I’ve ever taken!
Dinner and speeches took place inside the barn, with candles flickering on long tables and the kind of food that makes you want seconds. I loved how Meg & Jack made the day their own – nothing felt forced or overly done. Just really good people, having a bloody great time.
By the time the dancefloor opened, the shoes were off and the energy was on. I swear you can always tell when the couple are chill – it sets the tone for the whole day. And these two? Absolute gems.
So, if you’re planning an autumn wedding at Grangefields (or honestly anywhere), take a leaf out of their book: keep it laid-back, do it your way, and the magic will follow.
Getting married soon?
