At Home Newborn Photography in Derbyshire
It’s such a privilege to be asked to document life events of couples, having that sneak peak into special, significant moments. I first met Abby and Jack two years ago when they booked me to photograph their wedding and have an engagement session. We got to know each other so that by the time their wedding day came it was easy breezy without awkwardness.
So to be invited to their home to photograph their newborn baby, I couldn’t have been more thrilled.
The session just flowed as I let them spend an hour with their baby, feeding, changing, moving about the house as it seemed fit. Sessions at home mean new baby cards are still up, flowers are still fresh, everything you need you have to hand, sentimental items perfectly placed… all part of your story as a person / people and now as parent/s.
I took a range of images for Abby & Jack, but their preference is to keep their babies face off social media. It’s not something I take into consideration when I’m shooting, however I naturally vary the angles and positions so there are always plenty of images to share publicly and privately if you’re thinking of taking the same route.
