Summer Documentary Family Session in Derbyshire | Derbyshire Family Photographer
I hold this family session very close to my heart as these were one of the first families to book with me who didn’t know me personally. I felt like I’d made it!
We headed through footpaths to open fields in Allestree, Derby for this session. Tall trees distill the summer light and the long grass and wheat fields make you look as though you’re in rural France in late summer.
I still really love these images, the lighting and location were so perfect for a summer family session and little Nancy was so curious about everything she saw.
I focused on connection, details, letting Nancy lead the way as they interacted naturally. I guided them through our short route but really left them to explore with their daughter in order to capture natural moments between them.
I love capturing families in this natural, organic way. They truly represent how they are as a family, by being child led and forgetting about the camera.
You don’t always need a reason to make memories - making memories is in fact enough of a reason to book a family session.
