Peak District August Wedding
If you’ve grown up around the Peak District, you might understand why Emily & Ben thought there was no better place to host their wedding.
In early August, we had incredible weather, slightly on the windy side but a mix of sun and cloud made it an enjoyable day, particularly as the reception was held in a marquee in a field, but also made photography really easy, the sun wasn’t too harsh and we did get a golden hour after the speeches.
One of my favourite moments from this day was going to the Peak District while everyone headed over to the reception, to take their couple photos with that incredible view! It was windy, it wasn’t set up to be walked in from the car park in heels and a wedding dress or a suit (absolute troupers), but they saw the vision. I love this location for couple portraits, the views are just something else and since it’s a popular spot for walkers, there’s always a lot of support, honking cars and shouts of ‘congratulations’ around. Extra bonus points as it has a car park so super easy access.
To this bride, cake was a BIG deal. Not only was she planning her wedding, she and one of her bridesmaids were opening their bakery business in the lead up to the day (Bakery 91). Treat boxes were distributed to the hair & makeup team, I was given full permission to take whatever I liked from their bakery station (all made by the bride & bridesmaid for their bakery) so you can imagine the cake cut was more than just that. Emily had made her own wedding cake as well as eight other miniature versions, one for each table, so a group cake cut could take place!
This wedding was a true marker for keeping the traditions that you love while making your day true to you.
