Spring Family Session at Elvaston Castle | Derbyshire Family Photographer

For a special birthday, we had three generations of one family on this perfect spring day in Derbyshire - grandparents, kids & in laws and the grandchildren all in tow.

After a collection of formal portraits on the long stretch of grass in front of the castle, we went off to explore and let the kids climb, roll and run while I captured all the energy. The kids loved running through the gap in the hedges, rolling down the hill - getting a little wet and muddy in the process but honestly that is what these sessions are all about. They’re about capturing the real moments, the real fun your kids had, what made them tick, laugh and get curious at that age and not about trying to make things perfect because it’s in those moments where the real magic lies. Ironic isn’t it?

The end result is a gallery that is bold, bright and true to them, capturing a moment of time that was all about celebrations.
