The Mount Without - Bristol Wedding Photographer

On the first day in August, in the heart of Bristol, the 900 year old Mount Without was host to Leila & Dans wedding. Standing in a meadow of roses, they read personal vows and exchanged rings in front of 80 of their loved ones in a celebrant led ceremony (legal weddings are permitted at The Mount Without). The weather was sunshine and showers, so guests mixed between the outdoor patio and the crypt for cocktails and canapés during the drinks reception while the venue team turned the main hall around into long tables ready for dinner and speeches.

The bare bones of this venue is already so beautiful and full of character, it needs next to no styling. L&D kept it simple - a draped tablecloth, tapered black candles and rose filled bud vases adorned long wooden tables.

I brought L&D into the Main Hall before guests descended - a nice opportunity for candid portraits while they look over the styling they meticulously planned for their wedding day. The balcony level at The Mount Without features old red velvet cinema seats and a huge stained glass window, the most beautiful backdrops for indoor portraits. After a few moments here, we headed out on to the streets of Bristol, while guests filed in to find their seats for dinner. Heading out onto a cobbled street in Bristol, we stopped by a movie rental shop (this is where it gets cute!). In a wedding dress and suit, L&D browsed for a film to watch in the upcoming days, something they do together often, while chatting away to the owner. A film was selected, rented and stamped with their wedding date, all while being captured candidly in documentary wedding photography.

The Mount Without has been such a bucket list venue for me, I was so honoured to have captured this beautiful wedding on my first visit there.
